What is travertine:
Travertine is a natural sedimentary rock. It has a crystalline-texture and is composed of calcite (CaCO3), which is a form of a limestone deposited by hot mineral springs. The main color is white but there is tan, creamy and rusty varieties as well.
Where is it found?
Travertine was first found in Italy, but now Turkey, Mexico and Iran are among countries that are rich in this fine stone.
Travertine is found in variety of forms. It has a long history of usage in building material, aqueducts and baths. From floors and walls to washbasins, Travertine is a useful stone for different parts of the house.
